Tom Lewis, Director of Archaeology, presented a paper on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at the 86th Annual Meeting of the Eastern States Archaeological Federation in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. The paper: “New Interpretations on the Pre-Contact ‘Small Lithic Dominant Type Sites’ of the Mid-Atlantic Region” discussed the prevailing theories of macro and micro base camps and postulates that in the Middle Atlantic, the dominant site type is small and larger site types represent the seasonal reoccupation of these areas.
